H. Yvonne Cheek, Ph.D.
Dr. H. Yvonne Cheek, president of the Millennium Consulting
Group, is a strategic change consultant, master trainer, and
facilitator. She and her colleagues of diverse backgrounds enjoy
helping clients expand their thinking as they design, launch and
reap the benefits of new initiatives.
A native of North Carolina, Yvonne’s interests include
traveling, going to the theater, bicycling, reading, and creating adventures for family and friends.
Her former positions include teaching at the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro and the University of Puget Sound,
directing the citizen education program at the University of
Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, and being a
manager in corporate marketing at Control Data Corporation.
Committed to civic involvement, her past involvments include being a member of the Greater Twin Cities United Way Board and Women’s Leadership Council ,and the board of directors of the Minnesota Orchestra, Vocal Essence, WomenVenture, and KFAI Radio. She is currently a member of National Center for Black Philanthropy, and is a trustee with the Blandin Foundation and the Sundance Family Foundation. One of the highlights of her career was co-designing and facilitating a White House Conference on Women and Leadership.
She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the
University of North Carolina, a mini M.B.A. from the University
of St. Thomas, and a Kodaly Certificate from the Franz Liszt
Academy in Budapest. Her Ph.D. is from the University of
Michigan.
